An old fisherman has been returning from the sea empty-handed for too long. He is overcome with despair, sadness and tiredness. He loses hope by the day, and begins to believe that his time has passed, that luck is no longer on this side and that the time to retire has probably arrived. One morning he decides, without much conviction, to give it one last go. Sitting in his little boat, he waits and waits, his rod dangling in the water, in the silence of the open sea. The hours pass, and nothing bites. Suddenly, the unexpected happens: a huge fish takes the hook. A dramatic fight begins between the feeble old man and the gigantic fish. Hours of a tug of war for a victory that seems unlikely …
