Netsilik. Pescando en la presa de piedra
Trasfoco: Fishing
Because of their almost inaccessible location, the Netsilik (People of the Seal) were virtually the last of the Inuit groups to abandon the nomadic life of the arctic hunter. As late as 1923 the Danish explorer, Knud Rasmussen, reported that numerous Netsilik had never seen a white man. In the early-1960s the Netsilik still vividly remembered their old nomadic ways. This unique documentary looks at the fishing methods used by the Netsilik to catch salmon. Before the screening, Francesc Bailón, an expert in Inuit culture, will give a brief introduction to their ways of life.
