En Ancón
Trasfoco: Fishing
For a long time, the residential area of Ancón, located at around 42 kilometres to the north of Lima (Peru), was a major fishing port. Founded around four thousand years ago by the Ancón-Supe indigenous people, it has undergone surprising transformations over recent decades, until becoming the overcrowded tourist resort it is today. The world of the fishermen barely survives under the pressure of the new economy of the services sector, bringing to light big social, cultural and class differences.
